16th AGM of SLNIPC was held on at Hector Kobbekaduwa Agrarian Research & Training Institute Colombo 07 with the participation of Hon. Minister S.B.Dissanayake, Minister of Higher Education. The book "History of Counselling in Sri Lanka" was launched at 16th AGM as a Publication of SLNIPC. It is the first Publication on Counselling History Written in Sinhala, Tamil & English all in one book. Secretary SLNIPC Mr. Upali Samarasinghe participated in the International Counselling Conference organized by Asia Pasific Psychological and Educational Counsellors' Association (APECA), in Penaag, Malaysia in August 2010. Mr. Samarasinghe presented a paper on the "Nature of Psychological Problems in Sri Lankan Society". Workshop on CBT - SLNIPC organized a Workshop on "CBT for fears, anxiety and phobias" on 31th August 2011 at Hotel Intecontinental, Colombo. This Workshop was conducted by Prof. Tian Oei (PhD in Psychology), Professor emiretus, Queensland University, Austrailia. He is the present Director of CBT Unit, Toowang Hospital in Queensland. SLNIPC Certificate Awarding 2011. Sixty new counsellors recieved their certificates and identity cards at the ceramoney held on 31st August 2011 at Jhon Guyer memorial lecture hall,Colombo - 03.
