SLNIPC conducts counselling training courses, workshops, seminars, awareness programmes and consultancy services for Government Departments, Ministries, Universities, Industries, Banks, NGO's and Social Organizations.

A member can belong to one of the following categories

Member

Associate Member

Registered Member

Student Member

Applicant should have a first degree with atleast a pass and one year Diploma in Counselling from a accredited institution or university.

How to become a member of the SLNIPC

Any citizen in Sri Lanka with required qualification could be a member of SLNIPC by producing a complete membership application to the secretary.

A member can belong to one of the following categories

A- Fellow Member
B- Member
C- Associate Member
D- Registered Member

E- Student Member

2. Applicant should have a first degree with at least a one year Diploma in Counselling.

Preference will be given to B.A. (Psy) or B.Sc (Psy) graduates with a one year Diploma in Counselling

Institutions planing to commence counselling education programmes should apply for prior registration paying Rs. 1000.00 to SLNIPC.

3. SLNIPC will register such programmes as an accredited programme.

Professional guidance for developing counselling educational programmes will be free of charge. Institutions should be furnished final syllabus along with names and professional qualifications of the trainers. When the programme meets the Standard to produce professional counsellors SLNIPC will register such programmes as an accredited programme.

Annual accreditation fee is Rs. 10 000.00 renewable annually.

The academic board will supervise teaching and skills development components when it is necessary before renew as of accreditation.

Those who do not posses a degree should complete the preliminary certificate in Psychology programme in an accredited institution and a one year Diploma in Psychology.
