The Sri Lanka National Institute of Professional Counsellors is an educational, scientific and professional organization whose members are dedicated to the enhancement of the worth, dignity, potential and uniqueness of each individual.

Sri Lanka National Institute of Professional Counsellors
( SLNIPC) is the major umbrella organization in Sri Lanka. SLNIPC started as a small professional organization in 1983 with 20 school and public counsellors. Today SLNIPC membership has grown up to 2000.


SLNIPC has four divisions

A- Division of Psychological Counselling
B- Division of Career Counselling
C- Division of Educational Counselling
D- Division of Family Counselling


Counselling and Psychotherapy Resources Directory published by the SLNIPC lists counselling and psychotherapy centres as well as individuals,

 

counselling practitioners in private practice , giving details of their qualifications and specializations. It is divided into districts for the convenience of the public. You can find a professional counsellor closer to your residence ,school ,factory, industry or bank.

For the last 22 years SLNIPC has provided consultancy service to various Mministries, Universities, Departments, Industries, Corporations and all leading NGO's to develop counselling projects. SLNIPC provided training, supervision as well as professional counsellors for counselling vacancies.


SLNIPC has conducted public lectures, workshops and awareness programmes in all the districts in Sri Lanka.

A Consultant is usually called in to review some aspects of organizational structure and working collaboratively with the work force to devise a way of helping the organization to run more effectively.
